Their weather stations – currently deployed in Madison, Kansas City, Dallas, and Boston – have ushered in a new era for the weather industry that is both more economical and technologically advanced. With more than sixty stations deployed and hundreds more prepared to be deployed, Understory is in the midst of revolutionizing an industry that has fundamentally relied on the same technology for decades.
To support the rollout of Understory’s network, the company has hired six additional employees and is seeking to hire four more before year’s end.
“With all of the advances in technology, it’s a wonder why there has been such a prolonged gap in weather data reporting and a lack of visibility into what really happens at ground level,” said Alex Kubicek, CEO of Understory. “We’re thrilled to be bringing a solution to the industry and to have our solution recognized for its excellence with this award. Our move to Madison and expanding team have prepared us for explosive growth and we’re looking forward to bringing our solution to many more cities in the coming months.”
